Phat Diem, ban tho chinh The Phat Diem Cathedral, built in 1865, today remains an important center for Christian pilgrims from all over Viet Nam. This remarkable cathedral, built of ironwood in Sino-Vietnamese style, was one of the earliest Catholic churches to be built in North Viet Nam.
